아래에 먼저 나오는 비디오는 영국의 ESL 선생님이 현재분사의 용법에 대해서 친절한 설명을 보여주고 있습니다.  뭔지 한국의 교육방법과 비슷한 느낌이 듭니다.  먼저 워밍업으로 살짝 현재분사와 과거의 시제 차이를 리마인드 후에 다음 비디오에서 실제 길거리 용법을 들어 보시면 쉽지 않을까 생각합니다.

Where were you born?  In New York city.  Oklahoma city.

Was that a long time ago?  It was for me….  1949.  Never asked a lady her weight, her birthday or her shoe size.  Fair enough!

Were you good at school?  Yes, I was good at school.  Yes, he was.  Yeah, he is a really smart guy, he’s a lawyer.

What did you do yesterday?  Yesterday, I studied medieval massagery in French lyric poetry, and then we had some lunch.

Apart from New York, tell me one other town that you’d lived in.

Oklahoma city, Oklahoma.  Paris, France.

When did you live in Paris?  In 1990. 

I think it’s really strange that we met.  

Well, how did you meet?  We are not telling.  Fair enough, you don’t have to. 

How long have you known each other?  Five years? Four years?  Four years!  Five was good.. that was good, close …

What do you hope to achieve before you die?  Old age…?
