Hi I’m head coach Andres Moreno, and today I am in the famous Santa Monica Farmer’s market.  So, we gonna learn about fruits and vegetables.  Fresh fruits and vegetables…Are you ready?  Follow me.  So we’re gonna start with some vegetables.  First one is an eggplant.  Do you see that?  Do you have one where you live, eggplants?  This is a squash.  Kinda heavy, see kinda yellowish squash.  You can also have a green squash.  Let’s keep going.  Here is some fruit back here.  This right here is a cantaloupe.

Look at all these colors.  Here we have a red pepper.  You can also have green peppers, different color and yellow peppers.  Here is red pepper again.  Here you can also get…these are zucchini, You have these at home? You can also have… look at these, yellow squash, pretty nice huh?  You can buy all sorts of fruits at fruit market.  Here have cucumbers, good for salads.  So now, we’re gonna meet Kay, he is a part of farmers’ market, and Kay, what are you selling?  [seescreen..]  So there you go Kay has indoor plants. So it’s not only about fruits and vegetables, and also amazing people and plants.

So now it’s time for some more fruits and vegetables.  Let’s start over here…  You have some great corns,… umm amazing, huh?  Some more inthere… corn!  We also have beets.  You can make sugar out of these, beets.  I bet you know what this is.  Carrots you know… for rabbits.. “What’s updoc”  you know that one…  And this big thing right here, guess what’s it called, a water melon.

So now we gonna look at tomatoes, look at these wonderful tomatoes.. hugh, so we have some red tomatoes and have these green tomatoes. Now there is some very important key words here.  When somebody to eats these ready to eat, yous ay you have a ripe tomato.  Ripe, it’s right here, Ripe.  When it’s not ready to eat, it’s just green tomato, harder it’s not ready to sell it yet.  Here we also have some small baby tomatoes for salads.. amazing.

OK, let’s look at some more fruits now.  Here, you what these are?  These are lemons, green lemons.  Here is a big green lemon.  You can make a lemonade with that.  So here we have oranges, like oranges right?  Now, at farmers’ market you can also try some fruits. So they have a little pieces of oranges, let’s try this.  It’s really good, really good, really sweet.  Apart from oranges,  Look at these avocados. When you open them, ripe and green, wonderful.  And if you wanna buy something, they have a good old bags, so i will take avocados, put them in the bag, leave go home, make amazing salads.

OK, now we’re here with Oliver.  We’re gonna buy some grapes. So Oliver, tell us about these grapes. These are red seedless grapes, very sweet, grown on certified organic.  [see screen..]  we will take some of these grapes for Albert.  OK, it weighs one point six pounds, which is little bit under two dollars, will charge one seventy-five, he is weighing for us here, what was weight? one point six pounds, how much money? Six dollars.  We are gonna give you five and I will give him another dollar in a minute.
