English Grammar & Punctuation : How to Use a Semicolon

When do you use the semicolon anyway?  You know there is only two times when you suppose to use semicolon.  We’re gonna talk about those right now.  Happy Writing, I’m Page Carerra.

We gonna take a look at the sentences to give you better ideas what I’m talking about.  Let’s go ahead and take a look.  The students studied for the exam; the teacher graded papers.  Now notice you know both of these phrases here are independent phrases that can stand on their own.  But this semicolon gives a reason to pause.  It gives you the reason to stop and emphasize these two phrases here.

You know there’s two times like I was say you can use the semicolons.  The other time is when you actually listing.  Another words I went on vacation to Atlanta, Georgia; Miami, Florida; and end of the trip in Washington, DC.  So when you’re listing things in a sentence, that is the other time you wanna use semicolon.  So today we have been talking about two independent phrases and that’s when you use semicolon to combine two together here, you also use semicolon when you want to list certain things in your sentence.  So, that’s something keep in mind when you’re writing.

I’m Page Carerra, Happy Writing.

Sarah Brightman and Josh Groban

Sarah:
There for me, every time I've been away
Will you be there for me, thinking of me every day
Are you my destiny, words I never  dared to say
Will you be there for me?

Just think of you and me, we could never toe the line
It's such a mystery just to hear you say you're mine
And while you're close to me, so close to me
Just hold me

Josh:
When you're feeling cold and all the city streets are grey
Walking all along and watching how the children play
Voices in the wind and faces from the past go dancing by
They're asking why
Both:
Will you be there for me, everytime I go away
Will you be there for me, thinking of me everyday
Are you my destiny, words I never dared to say
Will you be there for me?
Sarah:
And while you're close to me, so close to me
Just hold me
Josh:
Can you really want me more for than a little while?
What are the stories hiding there behind your smile?
Wishes in a dream and figures in a world that I could share
And everywhere
Both:
Will you be there for me
Will there ever come a day when all the world can see
Things were meant to be that way
Will you be there for me?

Can you hear the people say
That you're just
There for me

Josh:
There for me

Sarah:
There for me

Ladies and gentlemen, Mr. Josh Groban!
