Arthur: Buster Makes the Grade (Part 2 of 2)

Youare out!  Buster, you’re not payingattention.  Sure, I am.  He was safe. Paying attention to the book, Buster. Oh, yeah, he he, it’s just so hard to keep my eyes on the page.  Hey, I know. Why don’t you read to me.  Allright, Chapter One.  Alice was beginning to get very tired ofsitting on the bank, and having nothing to do. She’s just like you Buster.  Buster?  What do you mean?  He was safe.  He is out. It’s no use.  Buster is just notinterested in studying.  He is not evenworried about the big test.  Of coursenot, the only thing Buster worries about is if he gets seconds for hisdesert.

Muffyand I bought a bag of doubled peanut botched up to teach him division.  And it won’t cheap and you’d better geteverything right.  There are twentypieces here.  Now you and I are gonnasplit them.  How many of each get?  Right, that’s dividing by two.  Now let’s say you want to divide them by three,Muffy, you, and me.  Wrong!  No Buster, you see, you have more than Muffyand me.  It’s not equal.  Oh?! Is it equal now?  Wrong!  No, it’s not. Well, then…  How about now?  F, Mr. Baxter, I will give you an F!

It’stime to take a drastic action.  He’shopeless, leave it to me.  I know how tomake him pay attention.  In 1776, ThomasJefferson, who later became the third president of United State, wrote the Declarations of Independence. Buster!

Thankyou, Thank you!  It was nothing.  Oops! Buster!

Colorado, Utah,Nevada, and California. Buster!   No, I’m doomed.  Well, you still have tonight.  To learn everything…  Don’t worry Buster, third grade is a loteasier second time around or the third.

Just rememberBuster, I’ll always be your friend even if the other fourth graders are pickingon you.  Thank!  And we will still get to see each other inthe lunch line.  I guess.  I’m sure gonna miss you.  So long….   ‘third grade is a lot easier second time around or the third.’

I’mhere to see the Principal… Ah Buster, I have a good news.  I can move onto the Fourth grader at last,Arthur?   No, but where you’ll be going you can nap andplay all day, pre-school, Buster!  PleaseArthur, don’t do it!  I can do better, Iknow I can, I know I can….!  I know Ican!

Ihope this truth to be self… evident, self-evident ….

SorrySteve, I wish I can play, but I have to study….

Nnetimes nine is eighty one!

Ihave graded last week’s tests!  Most ofthem were very good, but some of you may be a trifle disappointed.  You gave it your best shot, Buster.  That’s all you could do.  I heard the second graders have a greatsoftball team.  Not bad, illegible.  Well, Mr. Baxter, Congratulations… amiraculous, but well deserved B-plus. You did it Buster… Yah!!  But, Idid have some help. Thanks guys!  Mr.Reed, you on the other hand have to work on your division.  Perhaps, Buster could give you a fewpointers.
