PCMag.com's Best of the Year

i'm lester holt. after merging with frito-lay, not quite. you're going to get slr quality photos in a camera that's much smaller. it's got a fantastic lens on it right here. the great thing about these lens even though they look like small point and shoot cameras, they come with interchangeable lens. finally. works like a point and shoot. this is a point and shoot. this lens is not. right. you can swap it out for another lens. smaller lens would make it another shoot. what am i going to pay for that? it's $600. not bad for -- if you compare it to other dslrs which generally cost that much, this is much more affordable and great image quality. competitor in point and shoot but high quality is 500 maybe. okay. a bose wireless speaker here. the thing is there are a lot of speakers out there. people are using phones as primary music devices with libraries. you have yours there. i have mine. and this syncs via blue tooth. you did that from your phone. i did that from my phone. and i can stop it from my phone. go ahead, ask him what's on his ipod. having no wires thrks is battery operated. b bose do a good job of making the sound bigger than it is. bluetooth is good. how much? $300. that's not bad. you've been waiting all day to ask about this. this is the mac book air. in particular both 13 inches or super duper 13 inch has a special thunder bolt port. we like the 13 more for a variety of reasons. the mac book air didn't come out this year, but this year it has a new processor, the core i5, more memory, better performance. and in addition to this thunder bolt port which is a next connection. ten years ago it was the fire wire. then it was the usb. then it was the small usb and then the fast usb. this is the next thing. we just think that even next year you're going to see a lot of systems look like this that are running windows flt right now this is one of the best ultraportables on the market. other technology's going to adopt this kind of port. we will see. everything i'm saving on these memory sticks using usb is going to be outdated soon? usb is not going anywhere any time soon, but thunder bolt will probably come after that. this is the most expensive one, right? it's $1300. that's a lot for a laptop this size but it's a lot. you open it up and it turns on automatically. no turn it on and go get your coffee. you're excited about this. oh, yeah. i can tell. net gear wireless router. this is the fastest router that we've tested in pc mag labs all year. it uses multiple bands. the pewty not only is it a fast router, but very easy to set up. one-button setup. you can set parental controls, people visiting your house can access your network but not all your files at the same time. a great all around router. most people are using routers that are a couple years old. yes. how much? this is $100 today because it's black friday. i got 15 seconds on the ssd. a solid state drive. it's super rugged. we dropped it from six feet. froze it in a block of ice and chipped it out and it still ran. super secure data storage. that is $500 for 128 gigabytes. you're paying for the security. dan costa, good to see you. happy holidays. that was fun. thank you so much.
