Lesson 3b - Rhythm through Rhymes - English Pronunciation

Hello, this is your follow up lesson on Rhythm.  In our first lesson, I shared one nursery rhyme with you, Hey Diddle Diddle!  In that rhyme, I think you got a sense of the rhythmic pattern.  It went something like, …..  If you are not into the das, let’s try with numbers, one and two and three and four; one and two and three and four; the first rhyme was

Hey, diddle, diddle,
The cat and the fiddle,
The cow jumped over the moon
, and so one.  If you want all of it, go back.

We are gonna use the same rhythmic pattern now in two more nursery rhymes.  And I have some pictures to show you to help understand what those rhymes are about.  Ok, so here is the second one.  It’s called “A little boy blue”.

Little Boy Blue, come blow your horn,
The sheep's in the meadow, the cow's in the corn.
Where is the boy who looks after the sheep?
He's under a haystack, fast asleep.
Will you wake him?

No, not I,
For if I do, he's sure to cry.

So, now we’re going to say the rhyme two more times.  First time repeat after me, second time, we will say it together.  I have to words to help you out. [See screen]

Ready for number three?  Ok, this one‘s called a “Little Bo Peep”.  Here is the Little Bo Peep and here are her sheep.

Little Bo Peep has lost her sheep
And can't tell where to find them.
Leave them alone, And they'll come home,
Wagging their tails behind them

Repeat after me.  If you need more time to say each rhyme, hit the pause button.  [See screen]  Together now?
