Learn English 01 – Introductions

I’m your English teacher and I will help you to guide and learn English.  And this is Max.  Hi, my name is Max and I’m from Italy.  This lesson is about introducing about yourself.  How’s it going?

In this lesson, we will introduce ourselves in English.  Take a look at the text on the screen and Max pointing to it.  Max is just one of many presenters that will help you to understand the lesson.  Together, we will teach you useful phrases, vocabulary, and grammar.  Let’s begin by showing you how these lessons will work.  Each lesson is divided into three sections.  Watch, Learn, and Try! With study points in the beginning, and review points at the end.

Study points:  Here, I will talk about the key points that we are going to learn about today’s lesson.  In the Watch section, you’ll watch a short movie.  Each lesson is based on these movies.  Try to remember what the people are saying in the lessons because you’ll be tested in the following section.  Once we get to the Learn section, you will get the chance you learn vocabulary and grammar.  Do you remember how Max introduced himself?  Hi, my name is Max and I’m from Italy.  Let’s take another look: He said “Hi, my name is Max and I am from Italy.”

Now, we are at the Try section where you can practice what you’ve learn.  Let’s practice. Here I will ask you to repeat phrases and practice what you learned in the lesson.  How do you introduce yourself?  I’ll begin by saying, “Hello, what is your name?”   Now you try.  Whenever you see an underline, fill in the missing word, and then you will say, “My name is       .  Excellent!  Now introduce yourself, but this time, say where you’re from.

Now it’s time to review, what we’ve learned in this lesson.  Today, you’ve learned how to introduce yourself.

So, get ready!

You’ve just completed the first lesson and you’re on your way to learning English.  So enjoy and good luck!

Learn English 01 – Time

Your lesson’s just beginning, but it is 9 AM and I’m really running late.

In this lesson, we will learn about how to ask questions about time.

It’s time to get a job.  You’re now going to watch a movie about two friends, called Lauren and Katherine.  They are going to the cinema.  After the movie, we will have a short lesson and quiz.  Good Luck!

Would you like to see a movie tonight? Do we have time?  I have to be home by 9:30 (PM).  Well, I guess it’s around 6:15 now.  That should be plenty of time.  All right, let’s look in the news paper and see what’s playing.  I haven’t seen any of these movies.  How about this one?  The Scorpion!  Yeah!  It’s a supposed to be a good movie.  How much time do we have?  I don’t know. It starts at half past six (6:30).  Do you have the time?  Yes, it’s 25 past six (6:25). That gives us almost three hours.  That should be plenty of time.  So let’s go get tickets.  I don’t have any cash; do you think I can pay with a credit card?  Let’s look!  Humm, it says you can, but if there is a problem, I can buy you a ticket!  And I can pay you later.  “What time’s my date gonna get in?”

  • That gives us almost three hours.  전 여기서 무진장 헷갈립니다영화시작은 오후6:30 이고 지금 시각은 오후 6:25인데 남은 시간이 거의 3시간 남았다니제가 뭔가 잘못들은 것일까요

Can you remember // what time does the movie start?  The movie starts at 6:30. Another way of saying 6:30 is half past six.  What time did Catherine have to be home?  Let’s listen to her again: Do we have time?  She needs to get home by 9:30.  Yes, there is time.  They can go to the cinema.  Now, let’s look at some ways of asking the time.

Do you have the time?  Yes, it’s 25 past six.  This way of asking the time is easy.  [see screen]

Now it’s your turn to have a try.  Here is a question about time.  See if you can fill in the gaps. [see screen] What time is it?  It is 3 PM.  Here is another way of asking the time.  Can you fill in the gaps?  [see screen] That’s it. “It’s dinner time.”

Well done!  I had great time.  We have learned how to ask the time. [see screen]  See you next time.  “it’s 11 PM, it is time to go to bed, good night!”

오늘의 발음에서 하나의 단어에 대한 뜻을 아는 것도 중요하지만, 실제 키 포인트는 각 발음에 대한 출연자의 입, , 얼굴근육 그리고 턱의 변화를 유심히 살펴 이들 발음을 할 때 자신의 입을 적절히 조절하는데 있습니다..
